“Desiderata”, from the Latin means “ things desired” and is attributed to the son of German immigrants Max Ehrmann (September 26, 1872 – September 9, 1945) who was born in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The prevailing, common myth is that “Desiderata” (a poem) was first found in a Baltimore church in 1692 and is centuries old, of unknown origin.
