Have you ever noticed how we are deeply conditioned to believe that “order”—always having things go smoothly, collecting and increasing our material assets, and staying safely within our comfort zones—is the pinnacle of earthly existence?

The Western mind trains us to view a stable, predictable routine as the ultimate marker of spiritual and material success. Even mindfulness has been hijacked and repurposed into another optimisation strategy designed to keep all our ducks in a row.

Anytime there is even the slightest hint of loss or failure, the ego invariably scrambles to do its usual repair job. Whenever that smooth path is abruptly interrupted by adversity—whether it’s a minor irritation like a lost phone or missed flight, or a bigger crisis like facing financial collapse, enduring a sudden illness, or the breakdown of a key relationship—our immediate default is panic.

The ego is naturally wired to fight for its own existence, so whenever loss presents itself, it is viewed as fundamentally “wrong.” Maybe you’ve failed to manifest that dream job, or secure your ideal partner, or whatever it is.

But when we step back into Presence, as the Sovereign Witness, an unshakeable truth emerges:

Order and disorder are the two fundamental, co-dependent polarities without which this dualistic reality could not exist.

In fact, disorder is critical for humanity’s evolution at both the personal and collective levels. It is an inevitable, mandatory, and highly calculated component of a higher universal order.

Through the lens of the Sovereign Witness—the “Deep I” behind the surface “I” that most humans know and live—we can begin to see that it is virtually impossible for a human being to experience a true spiritual awakening or an evolutionary leap forward while trapped inside the stagnation of their comfort zone.

The Domestication Matrix: How We Accidentally Build Our Own Cages

In the energetic blueprint of the birth chart, the universe maps a perpetual alternating current of order and disorder. When the soul first incarnates, it encounters the planetary forces of form, cycle, and material density. Infinite consciousness is suddenly crammed into a tiny physical vehicle bound by linear time, gravity, and physical law.

When we first arrive on Earth, we are not yet fully conditioned by this material world. Anyone who has spent time around very young children can sense an innate openness, a spontaneity, and a directness of being that has not yet been buried beneath decades of social programming. I remember watching my son, Jayden, in his earliest years. There was an extraordinary thirst for life, wonder, and play. Time seemed entirely irrelevant to him as he became completely absorbed in a single moment—exploring a leaf, a puddle, or a simple game with total presence. Young children remain beautifully close to the Source of Being because they have not yet identified with the rigid personality structure that adults spend lifetimes defending. The soul still remembers its essential nature far more clearly than the mind.

Yet, incarnation inevitably introduces limitation. The moment a child falls and grazes a knee, the reality of material density announces itself. The body can be hurt, it becomes tired, and it is subject to physical law. While the soul itself remains boundless, the vehicle through which it operates certainly is not.

As we grow older, these natural limitations become increasingly complex and systematic. We encounter family conditioning, educational systems, cultural expectations, and eventually the vast machinery of the corporate and government matrix. We learn to be domesticated. We are taught how to behave, how to fit in, and how to be a “good citizen.” Layer upon layer, the original freedom of the soul is covered over by adaptation and survival strategies as the child learns which emotions are rewarded and which identities are punished.

What astrology reveals is that this entire process is actually a critical stage in the soul’s evolutionary journey back to Spirit. In the birth chart, Saturn represents this principle of form and boundary. The soul cannot develop strength, wisdom, or mastery without encountering resistance; Saturn provides the necessary practical scaffolding to navigate the physical world.

The problem arises when that scaffolding becomes a permanent cage. Over decades, the mind becomes rigid and the daily routines become automatic. The personality becomes so overly identified with its labels, possessions, achievements, and carefully constructed sense of control that the living soul is effectively trapped inside a fossilised version of itself.

The universe, however, will never allow a sovereign soul to remain permanently fossilised. When your life structure becomes so rigid that it suffocates your evolutionary blueprint, the transpersonal giants are deployed to break this closed circuit.

In astrology, we use the word transit to describe the movement of the planets—but you can think of transits as the cosmic mechanisms that trigger the major transitions of your life, from birth to death.
